It’s seriously disgusting that women falsely accuse men of being rats! For one, it could potentially ruin a man’s life. And two, it’s downright insulting to real victims.
A Tunisian friend of mine was in a similar situation. This was before mass internet and social media. The false accusations stuck despite proving the contrary. My friend ended up getting fired from his job and shortly after kicked out from his family home. It was a horrifying event. Such accusations are not benign. When truly false, they are downright criminal.
