Be very careful if you join tlr because once you are a member you cannot get anything deleted.
I joined a few years ago on the advice of a twags group on Facebook as I’d met a Tunisian man on holiday and was contemplating a relationship with him. I was warned about rats and visa geezers so I decided to join tlr to do my due diligence.
I joined tlr and couldn’t find any trace of the man. I shared my situation with them and they convinced me that he would be a rat and after money and/or a visa. I didn’t get any rat vibes from him and after a lot of thought I decided to see him again. I’m so glad I did. If I’d have listened to them I would be missing out on a happy marriage and a beautiful baby.
I admit that I carried on being a tlr member as the drama was entertaining during my night shifts at work. There are a lot of older ladies on there and clearly some are in relationships that might not be genuine. However the problem is that these ladies egg each other on and it’s easy to get caught up in the momentum and to be fair it was fun to wind them up a bit. These ladies also don’t see their own role in their situation. If you’re old enough to be his mum then you are too old! (There are some exceptions).
I’ve seen it with my own eyes when we’ve been to Tunisia. My brother in law was accosted in the hotel by an old French lady who just wanted sex. She told him she was 35 😂 she was clearly in her 50s, he’s in his 20s. She’d already accosted other young Tunisians working at the hotel. A lot of these older ladies are sex tourists and don’t like it when the Tunisians play them at their own game. Yes rats do exist but they are a small minority however these ladies use it as an excuse for their poor behaviour and decision making.
I digress. So back to tlr. I asked for my profile and all activity to be deleted last year when tunisianlove started up. I was and am scared of being doxxed by tunisianlove. My husband knows I was on tlr as I’m honest with him but it’s still not nice to have that threat hanging over you. I also had significant health issue at the time which totally changed my personality and behaviour. Tlr refused to delete anything and banned me so I couldn’t contact them to discuss.
I’ll admit my postings on tlr are not my finest moments and I’ve probably said some things unfairly and not stepped up and called them out when they’ve been unfair. Lesson learned.
I’m still on the twag Facebook groups and to be fair very few twags have any respect for tlr. You can see the tlr members a mile off as they spout off that all Tunisians are rats and then get banned. They don’t get the same sympathy when they share their sob stories on the twags group so they go to tlr as the mob mentality gives them validation.
So as I said, join at your own risk because you post on there you can’t have anything deleted.
